Misty Taylor Chaves

Misty Taylor Chaves is a founding partner of King & Chaves, LLC. She is a skilled civil trial attorney, with over 25 years of experience. Through the course of her career, her clients have trusted her to try cases to verdict in every South Florida jurisdiction and many other venues throughout Florida. 

Ms. Chaves is AV Preeminent Rated. She handles complex insurance defense suits with an emphasis on cases involving premises liability, automobile negligence, wrongful death and product liability defenses.

Ms. Chaves earned her Juris Doctor degree with high honors from the University Of Florida College Of Law. 

Ms. Chaves continues her membership in the honorary society, The Order of the Coif, and she maintains a position on the University of Florida’s Law Alumni Counsel. 

Ms. Chaves is admitted to practice in all state courts within Florida, the United States District Court of the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida and, in 2011, she was admitted to practice before the United States Supreme Court. 

Ms. Chaves is a member of the Florida Bar, as well as the Palm Beach County Bar Association, where she served a term on the Board of Directors. She was elected President of the North County Section of the PBCBA and she continues to serve on various committees within the PBCBA. She is currently an Emeritus member of the American Inns of Court.  She actively participates in the pro bono Attorney Ad Litem and Guardian Ad Litem programs of Palm Beach County, where she advocates on behalf of children within the legal system. She was awarded the prestigious “Child Advocate of the Year” award by the Legal Aid Society for her advocacy

Throughout her career, Ms. Chaves has lectured on a variety of legal topics to insurance companies as well as civil and community organizations.
